COD-UI’22 : First International Workshop on Control, Optimization and Decision for urban intersections

The COD-UI’22 will be held in conjunction with The 13th International Conference on Emerging
Ubiquitous Systems and Pervasive Networks (EUSPN) October 26-28, 2022, Leuven, Belgium

Efficient transportation is one of the major challenges of this century. Transportation and mobility are
at the core of pollution, health concerns, incidents with injuries and fatalities, supply chain costs,
energy consumption and time lost due to congestion. The use of intelligent transportation systems and
the emergence of the autonomous vehicle appear to be the keys to provide a safe, environment
friendly and efficient transportation system. These technologies are deployed at the urban scale in
traffic planning and control as well as the vehicle scale to enable safer and less polluting driving, thanks
to connectivity and driving automation. Other applications of these technologies aim to enhance the
mobility in general, such as the safe integration of PLEVs (Personal Light Electric Vehicles), as well as
of all categories of users such as people with impairment.

This workshop targets the use of control, optimization and decision support techniques for conflict
situations, especially at signalized intersections or at autonomous and connected intersections. The
objective of this workshop is to provide a forum for the academic and industrial communities to share
and disseminate research efforts and innovative developments on intelligent transportation systems
and connected and autonomous driving, especially linked to traffic signals and intelligent intersection
control.
